Social Security disability can be invaluable for emergencies

Most people don't know about the many benefits and programs that Social Security has to offer, including its Social Security disability program. However, this may be especially true for Louisiana workers who are new or re-entering the workforce after a long period of time. Many times, when workers are entering or re-entering the workforce, they can be surprised that so much of their paycheck is being diverted into Social Security. While it can be disappointing to not receive the money right there and then, they should be aware that they are paying into both retirements, as provided by Social Security, and for disability insurance in the Social Security disability program.

Social Security disability benefits ALS sufferers

While Social Security disability was originally designed to help those with physical and mental disabilities, recent changes have incorporated other people, including some Louisiana residents who are suffering from chronic illnesses. This is done using Social Security disability's Compassionate Allowances program. For many with debilitating diseases, this should come as welcome news.

Social Security disability can help those who can't work

For most people in Louisiana, choosing to accept Social Security disability can be a very hard decision to make. Many times, it's a very difficult thing for individuals to accept the fact that they are incapable of working. Sometimes, however, the disability becomes so debilitating that there is no option but to accept the assistance of Social Security disability.

For Louisiana residents who are suffering from a mental illness and are struggling to make ends meet, there is hope in Social Security disability. Social Security disability not only covers those with physical handicaps, but it also helps those who are suffering from chronic mental illnesses. Through Social Security disability, many people who suffer from severe mental illness are able to get back on their feet and confront their conditions head-on.
